November Favorites!

Hello guys!

So November has been a good but busy month. Through siffling through crazy amounts of essays, papers and snow I've been quite swamped. Although November has been pretty crazy I have had the time to try out some new products which I love so here I am with my list of November favorites.

Beauty Favorites:

Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cottage Cheese- This is my first time trying any Nyx product and so far I am loving it! This color is a perfect highlighter for me. I use it to highlight under my brows and the inner colors of my eyes.

Maybelline The Falsies Mascara- This mascara claims to have fibers which make your lashes look longer and thicker and it definitely lives up to it's claims. This is the best mascara I've ever used.

Revlon Eyelash Curler- There's not a whole lot to say about an eyelash curler but it gives my lashes the perfect curl.

Covergirl concealer- This concealer gives decent coverage but I'm not a huge fan of it. Any blemish I have it and attempt to cover with this, there is still a red hue. But I must use it up so I can try out another.

Proactiv- Proactiv is the best beauty product that has ever happened to me. I will give a full review on this later though. This is more of a forever favorite.

St. Ives Oatmeal and Shea butter body lotion- I bought this at the beginning of the month when the cold winter weather started to set in and my skin hasn't been dry since I started using it.

Revlon Superlustrous Lipgloss in Lilac Pastelle- I wasn't a big fan of this when I first bought it but the color is starting to grow on me.

So there is my November Favorites!~

First Time: American Apparel Nail Polish

Hey Guys!

Whats on the go! Same ol going on here. I'm watching 10 things I hate about you-I think? I think i missed out on something cuz this show seems alright. There is this actor on right now who seems extremely familiar though and I cannot figure it out so I may have to change the channel HA!

So I was checking out my local mall today and American Apparel just opened there. I have heard plenty of good stuff about their nail polish so when I seen it I finally had to check it out. I picked up "Berry" because it looked unlike anything I have in my collection.

To start I love the shape of the bottle- the shape makes it quite easy to store compared to say *cough* Nicole nail polish(disclaimer: I do like Nicole nail polish just not the bottle shape). Now back to American Apparel nail polish.. I find the brush is good quality and is in the middle of an OPI brush and a China Glaze brush.

The nail polish is a little runny which has it's pros and cons. I'm a slow nail polish painter so the polish is slightly dry before I'm finished the nail which makes the polish come out uneven, but I like how this nail polish is a bit watery so the nail isn't dry in between each stroke. On the downside I was not expecting it to be so watery so it almost floated off the brush onto my coffee table and I flooded my nail bed. But once all that misery was over with it was all good!

The color reminds me of vampires.. which, although there is the twilight and true blood phenomenon going on, this usually doesn't happen to me. Berry is the perfect shade for winter and is good with my favorite winter color (grey). Is it bad that I wear clothes to match my nail polish?

So here's my little rant on American Apparel nail polish. It is 5 stars for me!

Chow for now!

Must Haves: Revlon Superlustrous Lipgloss!

Hello people!

How's everything? It's been a while.. Pins and I have been swamped with homework and all that jazz but here I am with one of my favorite new products I have tried. So, first of all, I would like to say that lipgloss is one of my favorites in my makeup stash. Applying lipgloss can be very addicting, it makes me feel especially pretty and I find it can brighten up my face.

I picked up Revlon Superlustrous in Peach Petal, Lilac Pastelle, Coral Reef and Pink Pop .These lipgloss are the most pigmented and moisturizing I have ever had. Since I bought these, I feel like I do no need another lipgloss ever again. My collection is complete! The packaging is classy and chic- I love reaching for these because it looks like I paid a ton of money for them but at $8 they were a steal. The lasting power of these are amazing! The color dims down after 4 hours or so but by the end of the day there is still a hint of color on my lips.

Peach Pop is a shimmery light peach color which would complement any skin tone like all most of these. I wear peach pop when I have a bright outfit on or when I put on colorful eyeshadow.

Lilac Pastelle is a popular color which I'm sure a lot of you have heard of. Personally this one does not suit my skin tone as much as the other ones so this is my least favorite.

Next up I have the two which are the most summer-ish of the bunch. Coral Reef and Pink Pop are extremely bright colors. I wear these when I don't feel like putting on eyeshadow and want a pop of color incorporated in my outfit.

The only problem I have with these is the smell. Although they don't have the best smell ever that definitely won't stop me from using them. Do you guys have a favorite lipgloss? Let me know!

Guess I’m Just an Old Fart

Despite the fact that I’m part of a younger generation that is supposed to be all up on this social networking stuff, I’m not. Toss me a gaming system or a new blu-ray player and I can have that baby set up while my father is still trying to get the instruction manual out of the plastic wrap. But mention Twitter to me and I’m just as lost as my 94-year-old great grandmother trying to figure out the tv remote.

I’m going to be the first to admit I do not understand Twitter, or twittering or tweets, whatever they are called. I’m a Facebook kinda girl, even though I basically use it to make sure my family is still alive since I frequently forget to call home.

People are tweeting from space and I’m too afraid to even sign up! It’s really too scary for my taste. I’m an old fart and don’t really like change. It’s upsetting enough when they change the layout on my Facebook.

From what I understand of this Twitter thingamajig, you write down random thoughts for all your friends to see. Then celebrities have their own comments and you can “follow” them.

Now hold on a second! So Twitter allows you into the minds of celebrities…isn’t that just encouraging stalking behaviour? Is that what Twitter is?! A stalker in training guide? Alright, so maybe not.

If you want to make a comment regarding someone, you use an “@” symbol. That seems silly because it immediately makes me think of the mad face on MSN, and I wouldn’t want my friends thinking I’m mad at them.

Apparently this website is REALLY popular, but isn’t it letting us share a little too much information? I believe that is my number one issue with Twitter; that one day I would read one and just scream “TMI!TMI!” Below, I have made up an example of my worst Twitter fear:

Day 1

“Yeah! I got a Twitter account!  <3”

Day 3

“Snooze fest in class today :(”

Day 45

“Just woke up”
“Having some breaky!!!~!~1”
“Should I wear purple or red today?”
“CLLLLLLAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS”
“@ponyprincess OMG, you should meet me for lunch”
“people should mind their own business >:@”
“ewwww homework.”

Day 61

“Just took a huge dump after having Mexican last night. Should it be that chunky?”

Personally, I don’t want to know about someone taking a dump! That is far too much information. I have mixed feelings about twitter. I’m connected enough to my phone as it is with texting and checking Facebook, I can’t imagine hanging off every word that Miley Cyrus happens to tweet out concerning her everyday life.

Oh, and if there actually is a ponyprincess on twitter, it’s a coincidence and I don’t mean to offend.

Outfit Of The Day

Casual Fall
This is the first edition of Outfit of the Day(OOTD).. This may consist of outfits we have actually wore or outfits that we come up with! Pins and I have creative ideas and we enjoy different styles so we will be able to give you readers(wherever you are) a good variety of outfits!
Since it is getting chilly where I live I tried to bundle up a bit more than usual. I'm not a big fan of the cold weather and I am only starting to get into winter fashions since I try to stick to summer clothes as long as possible.. but I'm starting to realize now that I need to stay warm! I'm not good out in the cold like I used to be!
Today I wore:
My Peacoat: This coat is so warm and cozy and peacoats have been in style for the past couple of winters. They really are classic so this would be an excellent investment for anybodys wardrobe.
My Skinny Jeans: These skinny jeans from American Eagle fit amazingly.. I think American Eagle have the best jeans.. They last for a very long time and they are super comfy
Thermal: This thermal is like a t-shirt for the winter- It's the perfect thing for me to wear during this time of year- I don't like getting overheated, I just feel gross getting to warm so this keep me the perfect temperature.
Bracelet: This bracelet adds a little bit of sparkle to a casual outfit.
Moccasins: I try to stay bare feet as long as possible so the fur in these moccasins keeps my feet warm in the cold weather.
Loop Scarf: This scarf makes adjusting scarfs so easy. When I try to wear scarves I have a hard time making them look the way I want so I find the loop scarf makes the scarf fall in place easily.
Nail Polish: Russian Navy-OPI- This nail polish is one of my top 3 favorites. It's the perfect for the winter
Perfume: Juicy Couture- Peace, Love and Juicy- I don't own this perfume but everytime I see it in a store I go up and smell it. It has a woodsy smell that is nice for winter but it also has a floral smell which keeps me thinking about summer.
So this is my first OOTD.. I hope you guys like this!

Lazy, Lazy Nights

Hello Folks,

As I sit here watching MTV(why do they even call is that anymore?) while eating all dressed crispers(yum), I am trying not to put my Lush Lemony Flutter on for the 5th time today. Yes, dear whoever is out there I am distracting myself from this stuff by eating..not good.. and yes I promise it actually is that addicting.

I have only lately discovered the wonders of Lush. For those of you who are in the dark like me, Lush is a handmade cosmetic company that uses fruit and vegetables, essential oils, and synthetic ingredients in all products produced. They have a wonderful selection of soaps, bath bombs, showers jellies, hair care and anything else you could possibly imagine. They also do not test on animals and only do their testing on volunteers which is excellent.

Now I have not tried to many products from Lush but I am planning to buy many many more. I will probably spend so much at Lush that I will eventually become part owner of the company. So far I have only tired Lemony Flutter and their Bubble Gum Lip Scrub but I am planning on ordering some of their most famous products like Honey..I washed the kids, Rockstar and a few others.. If any of you have any recommendations please let me know.

So..for today I have this cannot life without product. Lemony Flutter is a Cuticle Butter and it says on the packaging that it can be used to repair dry cuticles, dry elbows, toes and heels. I mainly use it for my cuticles and it works amazingly! It leaves my cuticles moisturized and happy which makes me extremely estatic! It has a thick consistency and smells a little bit like Pinesol which is fine with me because I love everything lemon. Lemony Flutter also comes in the classic Lush black pots which comes with a nice amount(45g to be exact) of product and has the sticker on the bottom with the expiry date along with a picture of the person who made the product. Thank you Nic.. you did a wonderful job on my Lemony Flutter.

That is all for now so I'm going to get back to my MTV and crispers. Thanks for reading!

You Know You're a College Student When...

Ok, so technically I’m in a university student but for whatever reason, I like the sound of “college” more. Less letters, less syllables, less time typing or saying it; works for me!

Anyways, seeing as I am in the midst of pulling my very first all nighter to complete homework, it made me think, “Ohhh my goodness. This is the college experience.” But what is the college experience? I don’t know about anyone else but mine is nothing like the American Pie franchise and thank the Sweet Lord Baby for that.

Below, I have constructed a list of a few things I believe constitute the college experience. You don’t have to check off all of them, but a majority would be nice.

You know you’re a college student when:
1.     You’ve pulled an all nighter not related to partying
2.     Attended a toga party
3.     Done a keg stand
4.     Participated in a game of beer pong
5.     Attended a house party
6.     Witness the destruction of furniture or structure of house at said party
7.     Consumed copious amounts of alcohol, coffee, and/or energy drinks
8.     Experienced the liberation of going to the bathroom in the middle of class without having to ask first.
9.     Been called a Frosh
10. Had your room shafted or shafted someone else’s room
11. Attended a school sporting event after having a few
12. Consumed far too many pizzas
13. Gone on a spontaneous road trip
14. Had a sing-a-long while someone jammed on guitar
15. Googled your homework
16. Lived on a diet consisting mainly of instant noodles
17. Made the difficult choice between food and alcohol
18. Blasted music in Res
19. Had a floor party
20. Hoarded laundry until a visit home
21. Received a care package from home
22. Hidden yourself in the depths of the library to cram for exams
23. Start to believe that the weekend starts on Thursday
24. Cooked an entire meal using a hotplate
25. Discovered the joy of the in between class naps.

There you have it ladies and gentlemen, 25 things that help make up the college experience. If there happen to be any readers out there, why don’t you leave a comment, say what you think makes the college experience.

Lucky Dinosaur T-Shirt Time

Although it's not as catchy as Pauly D yelling "t-shirt time!" all over creation, I am a strong believer of my lucky dinosaur t-shirt. Some people have a lucky rabbit's foot or, I shudder to think, a lucky condom wasting away in a wallet until "the right time". Sadly, by that time, it's no longer a lucky condom. I on the other hand, have a lucky dinosaur t-shirt.

Now why in the world would I choose a dinosaur shirt as my lucky object? My saving grace when I have two tests on the same day and am unprepared for either; simple. It's awesome. My dino shirt is like Calvin's lucky red rocket-ship underwear. I put it on in the morning and I feel like I'm going to take the world and put it on its head; that is until I forget my morning tea at home and get splashed with the dirty puddle water some dickwad drove through. Before all that shit went down, I at least had a glimmer of hope.

So you may be asking, "Are you one of those people who doesn't wash their lucky clothes?"

Ew, do people really not wash their clothes?! Of course I wash it, the luck ain't going anywhere and I certainly don't want the dirt/stank to stay. I gotta keep that baby fresh for as long as possible. I don't want to be emitting some nasty funk when I'm supposed to be ready to take on anything. Emission of funk is to be reserved for my finest days. Days where I usually prepare by rolling out of bed with two hours of sleep and ten minutes after class has started. I attempt to run a brush through my matted hair and it just ends up getting swallowed; throw whatever clothes on the floor have the least order, and finish with a quick rinse with the mouth wash.

I hate those days, mainly because that's going to be the time where some undercover prince bumps into me in the hallway and instead of saying, "Hey, awesome dino shirt!" and whisking me away to some far off land, he politely tries not to scream in terror and disgust then runs off. Then, just to really rub it in, he falls in love with the girl who chews gum too loud in class.

Why I chose a t-shirt instead of something I could carry around every day is easy to understand if I think about it. For starters, I hate relying on luck. You can either do something or you can't, it's statistics. But after losing a prince to chompers, a girl needs a boost. Secondly, my shirt is hilarious to me even though I got it from Threadless tees and a million other people probably own it too. Thirdly, one of my earlier memories is going with my grandparents to a museum that had a dinosaur exhibit. I got to dig in a sandbox and uncover "real" bones and marvel at the T-Rex the staircase revolved around. I was 5 and everything in the world held a little bit of magic.

Now, I'm 20 and world seems a little less magical. Santa, the tooth fairy, and the Easter Bunny: all my parents in an effort to preserve childhood innocence. I thank them for trying because it reminds me that although magic may not exist, we can try to make our own. I realize that some of you have stopped reading in order to vomit from sentimental talk overload and that's ok. I'll probably do the same when I re-read this later.

Basically, we all need something to give us that little glimmer of hope. Some folks have pre-game rituals, charms, or prayer. I have a lucky dinosaur t-shirt and for me that's enough.

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Perfume

Hey everyone,

It's been a while since my last post but I have just been swamped with an insane amount of homework!.. And a trip home which was a lot of fun and a nice break!~
My little blurb for today will be about one of my favorite perfumes I own. Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy is a very sweet perfume so it's right up my alley. It is described as:

"an enticing scent of wild berries and mandarins, honeysuckle, gardenia, and jasmine. To round it out, amber, caramel, vanilla, sandalwood, and praline add just the right touch of sweetness".

It also gives a list of all the notes in the fragrance. I did not think this perfume had so much flower in it because usually I don't gravitate towards flowery perfumes but here I am talking about Viva La Juicy.

I think I'm so in love scent because I can mostly smell the caramel and vanilla. The cute packaging is also a plus. I love the gemstone cover and the giant pink bow. It's quite glamorous.

Overall this perfume is a 10 out of 10 for me. I love everything about it.

Talk to you guys soon,
xox

And.. Here I Go!

Hello Everybody!

Blogs are something that have frightened me for a while now.. but I've finally decided to kick those fears to the curb and just start typing already! Something that has helped me is that my bff is writing as well! We are the partners in crime type but when we get together and chat it usually is the two of us scattering through each others closets and putting together outfits, watching Audrey Hepburn movies(or any classic for that matter), and buying our usual half all meat/half vegetarian pizza (the pizza place must love when they get our call)

A little about myself: I am 20 years old, I am absolutely addicted to nail polish, perfume, fashion and business.

Nail polish is lovely. I believe there is a world of opportunities! It can add a pop of color to any outfit. I will try any color nail polish and the brighter the better usually!
My perfume addiction also runs quite deep.. I usually stick to anything fruity sweet candyish and or a fruity floral.
Fashion is something I always love but I tend to read more about it than actually do. I love reading about the latest trends and then making them my own.

This blog will probably consist of our obsessions of the moment, some hauls, nail polish, perfume, clothes, music and any other randomness we can throw in.

Thank you all for reading and I hope you all enjoy..
More to come soon

Greetings

Greetings World Wide Web!

I must say that I’m a little disappointed that there wasn’t some blogging welcoming committee of some sort; you know, a banner would pop up with a warm welcome message. Maybe even an electronic basket of muffins. Oh well, a girl can dream.

As this is my first official post, let me introduce myself; my name is Pins. The camera does not love me, in fact I’m pretty sure it has taken a hit out on me, and my voice would cause small children to cry if heard on the radio. With such limited options, I’ve decided to try out blogging with my wonderful friend Ashlee. Hey, if every old lady and her dog can have one, why can’t we?

In all honesty, I have no idea where I’m going to go with this but I think that’s the whole point. Who will read this and will they even enjoy it is also something I can say I’m not worried about. Basically, I’ll most likely end up writing out my mundane life and if ya don’t like it, sorry I can’t be cooler.
